Famed as a top producer of Shiraz wines, Zandvliet Wine Estate straddles the Cogmans River, with the great Langeberg Mountains throwing a giant arm around it from the north and disappearing to the south-east. A small range of limestone hills lie on Zandvliet’s southern half, bringing the special magic to its kalkveld (calcareous earth) terroir. It was acquired in 2015 by ANB Investments, a major player in citrus farming and owner of the ClemenGold brand. As of 2019, Zandvliet wine is made by Van Loveren Family Vineyards, though still using fruit from the farm and the winery facilities. The estate welcomes visitors eager to experience its range of wines.
