Sumaridge Estate Wines

Hemel-en-Aarde Hermanus

Restaurant

Simon Turner and his wife Holly Bellingham, both from Suffolk, England, bought the estate in 2008. The boutique winery situated in the Upper Hemel en Aarde Valley was once home to apple orchards. It was planted to vines by George Sumaris in the 1990s, from whom the winery gets its name. Sumaridge produced its first wine vintage in 2000. The winery is made from local stone in a design that links it to Burgundy. The range of wines includes single variety Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as various blends.
