Simonsvlei

Paarl Wine Route

Open on Sundays, Wheelchair Friendly

The giant wine bottle statue alongside the winery has made Simonsvlei a famous landmark near Paarl. As for the operations, they began soon after WW2 when ensuing economic hardship saw a group of wine farmers join forces and pool their resources to set up a central winery. The aim was to produce quality wines on a larger and sustainable scale. The collective effort saw the establishment of Simonsvlei in 1945. The enterprise has subsequently expanded to include a restaurant while it also rents out facilities for functions and events.
