Ridgeback Wines

Paarl Wine Route

Restaurant

The 65ha Ridgeback Wines farm was established in 1996 by current owner Vernon Cole, formerly from Zimbabwe. Its first wine came in 2000. After the early success of the Ridgeback Shiraz 2001, a 300-ton cellar, guesthouse and wine tasting centre were quickly established. The name Ridgeback is inspired by the character of the African Ridgeback dog pedigree, famed for its exploits, bravery and spirit. There are 35ha under vine, comprising diverse cultivars. Its range includes an MCC sparkling wine too.
