Stellenbosch Wine Routes
The Falke family has been doing business in South Africa since 1969. Peter Falke was born in Germany, but his dream to own a farm came true when he acquired Groenvlei on the slopes of the Helderberg in 1995. Dating to the 18th century, the traditional gabled Cape Dutch buildings of the estate belie a contrasting modernity within – a project by Peter's wife, French interior designer Danièle. A contemporary wine tasting room and outdoor lounge have established Peter Falke Wines as an elegant retreat, especially for relaxed wineland sundowners.

Welcome to Peter Falke Wines!
I was born in Provence, South of France, on an estate dedicated to roses and Jasmin, on the road leading to Grasse,
the world capital of perfumes.
As a little girl, I ran through fields of wild lavenders, daisies, mimosa and olive trees and I remember the villas crawling
under wisterias and bougainvilleas.
I can close my eyes and I visualize the long table under the shade of the umbrella pine where most of our meals were taken.
I can still taste the radishes with butter dipped in sea salt,
the basket filled with colourful vegetables, the fruity tomatoes,
the "Cavaillon" melons hiding under Parma ham,
the crisp cucumber salad, the beans and the lentils bathed in
herbs and olive oil and the odorant delicious cheeses.
I would like to share with you the taste of my childhood memories, so that in turn you will experience part of my culture which
I hope you will enjoy and share with your friends at
Peter Falke Wines.
