Paserene Wines

Franschhoek Wine Valley

Restaurant

Paserene is a small winery owned by Ashton-born, third-generation winemaker Martin Smith and business partner Ndabe Mareda. Its focus is the production of wines for the luxury market. The name is derived from the Latin word Passeriformes, the order of "traveling and free" birds like swifts and swallows, which is a theme drawn through to the winery's tasting room. It is a contemporary, but classically understated building resembling a martin’s nest. The Franschhoek-based enterprise's first vintage was produced in 2013.
