The Le Roux family is the sixth generation to farm this land that borders the Brandvlei Nature Reserve in Rawsonville. Oupa Piet made wine in the 1950s, but it was only in 2002 that descendant Pieter embarked on a similar journey with his wife Karen to return to the tradition, establishing the private cellar. The name Kirabo has African origins and means 'gift'. In 2014, the brewery called BroersBrew was added to the mix that attracts visitors along with the eatery, and a series of hiking trails.
