When first established in 1715 by French settlers, the farm was called La Rhone. Later acquired by a gold miner from Kimberley who believed the precious metal could be found in the adjoining Saronsberg, Winterberg and Obiqua mountains too, it was re-named Diggers Home. David and Janet Anderson acquired the farm from the Linde Family in 2011 and established the estate's independent label. The current portfolio includes a Chardonnay, Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon – all made by winemaker Albert Bring. There's a restaurant too.
