Breedekloof Wine Valley

How much fun can you have on a wine route? Well, besides the expected offering of quality wines and hearty country food, we also throw in majestic mountains, vineyards and sparkling rivers, offering healthy outdoor fun for mountain bikers, hikers, birders and fly-fishermen.

Not to mention our hot springs, stunning fynbos and warm, hospitable people who are passionate about winemaking and the Breedekloof Valley. We are just an hour from Cape Town, along the N1, but with all we have to offer it’s not surprising that many visitors turn their day trips into overnight stays.

The Breedekloof Wine Valley is one of South Africa’s most picturesque, and dramatically beautiful, wine regions. The diverse terroir – from mountain slopes, to the banks of the Breede River – allow for many different types of cultivars to be planted, resulting in a wide range of award-winning wines produced by our 18 wineries.

Accommodation ranges from picturesque camping and caravan sites, to self-catering chalets, B&Bs and luxurious guesthouses. Most are situated among vineyards, on the banks of the Breede River or surrounded by fynbos in the mountains.
